THE ROOM
Exhibition, 5th Biennale, Thessaloniki 2016

A mosaic of images, video and text in an 8x9m room is organized in a rotated square-within-a-square. A paradox, filled by accumulation, correlations and sequential voids ensues. Different points, modules and the show’s infrastructure align with either square. The project has no beginning, middle or ending. The audience follows it on different tracks. A printed navigator archives all texts and individual work titles; a digital live feed broadcasts in the center of the room. The design keeps the Depression Era Project in a state of becoming against the Biennale’s constituent states, between the optimism of the will and the pessimism of the intellect.
